DARK PUCE (BLACK) QUART, BIMAL, CORKER. 11 5/8"

GOTTERFRIED M. DEUCHER AND EDWARD C. KALBEN STARTED OFF TOGETHER AS PARTNERS IN A LIQUOR SELLING SALOON IN 1882. SITUATED AT 243-245 SECOND, SAN FRANCISCO. BY 1886, THEY WERE BOTTLING THEIR OWN BEER, AT 245 SECOND. IN 1887, THEY MOVED THEIR EXPORT BEER BUSINESS TO 108-110 JACKSON. DEUCHER, APPARENTLY, ALSO RESIDED AT 110 JACKSON. CONTINUED INTO 1888. BY 1889, THEY WERE WORKING FOR CALIFORNIA BOTTLING COMPANY. SITUATED AT 1407-1417 EDDY. DEUCHER AS A SALESMAN, RESIDING AT 623 1/2 LOCUST AVE. , AND KALBEN AS SECRETARY. THEREFORE, IT SEEMS THEY WERE IN THEIR OWN BOTTLING BUSINESS FROM 1886-1888. 2 TO 3 YEARS, AT THE MOST. NOW, THE VERY HARD TO READ MYSTERIOUS SUPERIMPOSED MONOGRAM STANDS FOR "PHILADELPHIA EXPORT LAGER BEER".
